Reliv’s revenue, profit fall in 2007

A dip in U.S. sales during the fourth quarter led to a drop in overall revenue and earnings for Reliv International Inc., the company reported Wednesday.

Revenue for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2007, fell 14 percent to $24.6 million, compared to sales of $28.6 million in the same quarter of 2006. Reliv reported U.S. sales of $21.1 million, a 17 percent drop for the quarter, compared to $25.4 million for the same quarter in 2006. International sales increased 9 percent to $3.5 million, compared to $3.2 million for the fourth quarter of 2006.

Net income for the fourth quarter dropped 65 percent to $697,000, or 4 cents per share, compared to net income of $2 million or 12 cents per share in the fourth quarter of 2006.

For the full year 2007, sales fell 5 percent from $117.5 million in 2006 to $111.1 million.

Earnings for 2007 fell 37 percent to $5 million or 31 cents per share, compared to net income of $7.9 million or 47 cents per share in 2006. International sales for the year rose approximately 9 percent to $12.7 million due primarily to the weakening U.S. dollar.
