Reliv posts lower Q1 sales, profit

Weak U.S. sales hurt Reliv International Inc.‘s first-quarter results as both net sales and net income fell, the company reported Wednesday.

Net sales for the quarter ended March 31 dropped 19 percent from record net sales of $35 million during last year’s first quarter to $28.3 million during the same period this year.

U.S. sales fell 22.6 percent from $31.9 million during last year’s first quarter to $24.7 million. The drop off in domestic sales came as international sales increased 17.2 percent to $3.6 million as sales in the Philippines rose approximately 30 percent and net sales in its Malaysia/Singapore region nearly doubled
