Mannatech, Inc. – Creative Compensation Plan Design – Changing a compensation plan is difficult for any company. Mannatech sales were declining partly due to a complex compensation plan that was neither seamlesss nor global in nature. The company decided to design one plan for all markets, utilizing the best components from the existing plan and addressing retention issues through either compensation or renewals. The strategy worked beyond all expectations as a result of four innovative concepts. First, the company involved its field leadership in every phase of the project. Second, they developed a front-end bonus that made a major impact on the retention of new associates.
