Despite a tumultuous year battling with distributors in the U.S. and government regulators in the United Kingdom, Alticor Inc. reported record sales of $7.1 billion for 2007.
On Wednesday, the privately held direct-sales firm reported strong growth in Latin America, Europe and Southeast Asia, coupled with a rebound in China, helped propel the 12 percent sales gain.
The company said increased sales led to stronger profits, although it did not disclose profit figures.
Alticor Chairman Steve Van Andel said business has been strong and resilient as the company tried to sharpen its focus on high-quality products and better serving consumers.
