- that one of the biggest challenges that a new person who begins a business with an MLM company will have to face is the negative reputation of Multilevel Marketing.
- that the single biggest reason that MLM has that reputation is due to the epidemic of RES – Rampant Exaggeration Syndrome.
- that the only way to earn a new reputation is to tell, and encourage others to tell, the “whole truth” and use “whole truth” marketing concepts that exclude all deception, half-truths, and exaggerations; and that include transparency, authenticity, and integrity.

The MLM industry is far too large for a just a couple of people to stay on top of everything. We need your eyes, your ears and your experiences related here, with honesty and transparency, to help all of us recognize and expose the exaggerations. We need your courage also to speak up with courage.
Frankly, if the whole truth of any of our businesses and products is not good enough to pass close public scrutiny, we should move on to something that does.
So our first suggestion…
If you are new to the Network Marketing profession, make sure you DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
You must be willing to spend some time to educate yourself about the home-based business industry. The consequences of a wrong choice can cost you thousands of dollars, years of time, your friends, family and reputation!

What happened to “Brilliant Compensation” by Tim Sales that was available on your previous website?
I purchased your book a few years ago. There was so much to learn from the company I signed up with, I’ve not spent much time with your book.
However, I would look at your website from time to time, because I believe you are doing an honest service. Always wondered how you made a living with it. I guess I’m still not sure!?
I’ve signed up with 4 nutritional companies, but each one has ingredients in their products that I have issues with. Do you know an MLM company that is committed to organic and holistic health?

This is an interesting site. I have always promoted the honest approach to marketing direct sales and mlm. Everyone always talks about the 80/20 rule and I believe the 80/20 rule would be more like 50/50 rule if distributors were more honest. Thanks for sharing so much info.

Great idea for a blog.
I just found it in my research on looking for
anti aging products from a lady who prospected
me for Forever Living products.
I’m looking at a couple of others also.
Please don’t come at me with your deal if you read this.
I know what I’m looking for.
I’m a super active 54 year young guy and
do take some good stuff.
Mostly superfoods and they work very well
for my recovery.
ie Maca,Turmeric,spirulina…things like that.
These are foods that are great but I also know
that there are and will be formulations that
really are anti aging.
I read a lot and have known this is coming for years.
My wife and I do not like autoships.
We also do not like shipping from the States.
We live in Toronto Canada.
Forever Living has a place we can pick products
up a few kilometres away.
Their prices are very good.
No minimum order also.
So I’m leaning towards them right now.
I also was an Amway distributor for 14 years
but have not been involved in one for 5 years.
I found Mike Dillard’s info Nov. 07 as I see you
have also via the ad to the right.
This changed my whole thinking on MLM and
my business as a whole.
What I’ve done and am still doing is branding me.
This has been 2 years of hard work since I have had
to learn marketing.
I now teach and sell a marketing course that all can
use to build any business.
It also pays cash upfront.
That’s where my sales funnel starts.
The NWM is a great industry but one must
research and use common sense.
I and many others on my/our team do not build
a NWM as a primary business.
NWM is not a real business.
You don’t own it which means your company
you buy from and sell for if a builder can
change the deal when they wish.
Ask Ken Dunn what happened in MaxGXL.
He lost a million dollar income just like that.
He will recover since he is a master distributor
and a real nice guy.
Anyway my advise is go to the ad here on the
right and buy Mike Dillard’s book.

That is what I tell my new folks who buy our course.
Since most of them start with MLMs.
The book is strong,honest,and most important the
truth about what it takes to MAKE$ online or off.
It’s also a funded proposal where I make monthly
commissions to fund my advertising.

I did a lot of research also…and I agree- no autoships, no monthly minimums for clients and no shipping from the U.S. I am based in the Niagara Region of Ontario and found this head office for Canada right in Mississauga. We have training meetings right at the head office and can pick up shipments for a small handling fee.
This 30 year old company is Arbonne. It received some undeserved bad press when they declared a Chapter 11( protection not bankruptcy) in January 2010. They are stronger than ever and are celebrating a Canadian conference right in Niagara Falls this year. There are a lot of great compainies out there, but look for strong leadershp and a prominent member of the DSA.
