Hello Mr. Abbott,

I just the read the Editor Opinion's section about TVI Express where you have stated that:

"This looks like a classic example of pyramid scheme trying to look like a legitimate MLM – virtually all of the revenues are coming from signing up new participants and commissions are paid out of the $250 for the price to join. This is more blatant than what YTB Travel was/is being legally attacked for."

I humbly invite you to my blog where I explain as to why TVI Express is NOT a pyramid scheme in detail. You may have a look. The address to blog is:

http://emjay07.blogspot.com/

It's good to have opinions for those who don't have one are rather more troublesome. I invite you to read my blog entry on this .. who knows it may just change your opinion.

Regards,

Mr. Abbott, thank you very much for this post for it's very informative and to-the-point.

As Mr. Gerry Nehra, (an MLM attorney) concludes in his words:

"So—bottom line—do not design, and do not work, a program where e multilevel commissions flow ONLY FROM the movement of money and BEFORE a product or service is delivered to an end user. When in doubt, consult a direct selling skilled attorney for guidance."

TVI Express business model is in compliance with the MLM laws since one doesn't have to get additional members in order to be able to use product. You get access to the product instantly and can use the product right after you join. You can use their discount club, avail free 7N8D package even if you haven't brought in any people. The voucher ensures your position with the company while the booking certificate confirms your booking (without any hidden terms or conditions) One can do instant bookings by themselves in their member account... Great, isnt it?

So, the product eligibility isn't based on e-multilevel movement of money. As per Mr. Gerry Nehra's explanation on MLM laws, TVI Express doesn't qualify to be a pyramid scheme and is very legitimate business.

Thank you again for posting this link!Mr. Abbott, thank you very much for this post for it's very informative and to-the-point.

Thanks all of you for your posts. Many opinions are a good thing and, what getting to the 'whole truth' often needs.

For everyone, I highly suggest reading this article by MLM attorney, Gerry Nehra, in order to be well informed on legal issues that may affect TVI in at least some jurisdictions:

Hello Mr. Abbott

You sure can enlighten yourself by going to TVI Express website. Click on Announcements and you will see what one gets for a mere cost of USD 250

FYKI, TVI Express has extended the vacation duration by one night and one day complimenting it to be a week-long vacation with your family with an allowed occupancy of up to 6 people (depending upon the hotel and accommodation you choose).

Members have been and are delightfully redeeming certificates and enjoying vacations in any of the 3-5 star 6,000 hotels/resorts listed in their inventory (as per their choice) and TVI Express is adding more hotels/resorts to this inventory and will keep adding more as they grow!

Now, yes, they do have a real product and what more can one expect for in exchange for USD 250 today?

Their business model is a unique and revolutionary conglomeration of a great business opportunity and luxury which comes to you at a negligible price!

TVI Express is a great and legit. business opportunity and one must do their due diligence before making falsified comments on its legitimacy.

Thanks!

I am a member of tvi and I love the company and their compensation plan and I intend helping others to help themselves especially here in South Africa where so many people do not have a proper home to live in and I will fight to the bitter end to support this company and the fact that here we have a compensation plan that we can enroll people with our earned Vouchers. My fellow members and I have pledged to give back to our Society to buy homes for the disadvantaged. Long live TVIexpress

Hello Tomcom and edharris,

I appreciate comments always and always welcome balancing views.

Ed made a great post about the size and legitimacy of the travel industry and travel websites. However, that is absolutely irrelevant as to whether TVI has an MLM program that will stand legal scrutiny in all jurisdictions.

There are many requirements for a company to be legal, largest of which is that there are real products that are retailable and actually are being retailed to end consumers. If all commissions are paid based on money that is being paid by other opportunity seekers as they join (or in this case, buy a membership), there is a good chance that the program will be closed down sooner or later. See YTB's legal challenges that are making them change their whole model.

I was also interested in this quote from the TVI FAQ page: "You don’t need to sell any products." Worrisome.

Also, I have been told that what you get for your $250 "6 Night / 7 Day stay at a 3-5 Star property anywhere in the world, and a Free Domestic Companion Air Fare" is delivered in the form of vouchers. Is that true or false information?

I would still appreciate a response to my request for the TVI Express comp plan and a document or URL that describes exactly what you get for your 250 USD. Is there a reason why that information is not readily and publicly available?

I would like to congratulate edharris for one of the most comprehensive TVI scam rebuttals I have read.
Well done and yes...if only people would conduct fair and balanced research into all aspects of the opportunity.
I must say Mr. Editor, it is extremely disappointing that someone such as you, who has positioned themselves to be a source of reliable information for the industry can be so irresponsible as to pass judgment on an opportunity without (by your own admission above) having all the facts and/or details at hand.
TVI is a legitimate organization that will become a household name in internet travel worldwide while offering highly rewarding compensation to those who are willing and able to assist in growing it's market share.

Congratulations to all those involved and do not allow the negativity to hinder your progress.

Mr. Editor,
Research Determines the Real Story

All we can do is ask people to do their own research, as we did, and Form their own opinions, as we did.
The first question I asked myself was “How does Travelocity.com make money?” and that lead to the same question regarding Orbitz.com, Expidea.com, Hotels.com, Priceline.com, Sam’s Club travel, American Express Travel, AAA travel, all of which have Travel web pages as well. But none of them pay me a commission when I book travel, or when I buy anything else from them.

What we found when we did the research was this:
1)	Travel web sites are paid commissions from the sale of rooms booked, cars rented, flights booked, cruises booked, and attractions booked. (Avis, Hertz, Hilton, Disney, etc. pays the commission to the company that was used to book the travel related item.)
2)	In the Travel Industry especially on the web, they use the term “Inclusion”. When a Travel Company has enough clout, exposure, or web traffic they can basically leverage that volume of traffic and sell “INCLUSION” on the site for an annual fee. For example: Expedia is currently the #1 travel booking engine on the web, and because their web traffic is so great they tell Avis, Hertz, Hilton, American Airlines, etc. “they will include them on the Expedia site for an annual fee” which equals LEVERAGE. Note: When I was traveling a lot I always found some booking sites that didn’t include some airlines, rental car companies, or hotels, that I knew existed. I’m sure you may have experienced the same thing when you’ve traveled, this was due to “INCLUSION”.

These are two very significant ways that Travel sites make money for their web based products or services. I’ll help you out; follow the link below to examine a commission structure partner agreement that companies sign if they want to be a partner with Travelocity, World Choice Travel, and Sabre Travel.

http://www.wctravel.com/corp/compensation.html

•	When you look at this web page you will find like we did that there a quite a number of similarities between the TVIexpress Travel Express pages and what this site offers it’s partners.
(We want to be clear, we don’t know for a fact that TVIexpress signed this specific agreement, or even one like it, but the evidence is there.)
•	Based on the similarities of all the icons and layout of every page it is a safe assumption that this is the case.
(Look for yourself, and come to your own conclusions).
•	Couple that with TVIexpress advertizing their partnership with Travelocity, World Choice Travel, and Sabre Travel, this adds more credence to our assumption. http://www.wctravel.com

Note:
1)	To book travel on Samsclub.com/travel you must be a member of Sam’s Club
2)	To book travel with AAA you must be a member
3)	To book travel with American Express you must have an AmerEx Card or membership by any other words.

$14 million dollars is spent every 60 seconds worldwide in the Travel industry.

Research this, as we have done, go to Alexa.com and get a measure of the network traffic on any web page you want to enter. Then see how they compare to TVIexpress.com
According to Alexa.com
1.	Expedia is currently the #1 Travel site in North America
a.	Expedia is ranked 126 for the web sites popularity out of all web sites in the USA.
b.	Expedia is ranked 436 for the web sites popularity out of all web sites world wide.
2.	Orbitz is currently the #2 Travel site in North America
a.	Orbitz is ranked 211 for the web sites popularity out of all web sites in the USA.
b.	Orbitz is ranked 825 for the web sites popularity out of all web sites world wide.
3.	Travelocity is currently the #3 Travel site in North America.
a.	Travelocity is ranked 236 for the web sites popularity out of all web sites in the USA.
b.	Travelocity is ranked 916 for the web sites popularity out of all web sites world wide.
4.	TVIexpress is currently not in the top 100 Travel sites but moving up.
a.	TVIexpress is ranked 1,828 for the web sites popularity out of all web sites in the USA.
b.	TVIexpress is ranked 5,349 for the web sites popularity out of all web sites world wide.
c.	But gaining popularity by an astonishing rate of approx 22% in the last 3 month period.

Travelocity wants to be #1 I’m sure, but would be perfectly fine if TVIexpress takes that role, after all when TVIexpress wins so does Travelocity.

Ask yourself this: Do you really believe that large companies such as Travelocity, Avis, Hilton, Sheraton, etc. would be willing to tarnish their reputation by being involved in a scam, scheme, or otherwise an illegal operation?

Ask yourself this: How are normal Travel Agents Compensated?

Travel agents receive a percentage of the commissions for the travel purchased from travel suppliers, except for airlines who no longer offer commissions. The commissions are shared with the hosting travel agency.
Here's a summary of ways an agent is compensated:
•	Training and accreditation as a professional independent travel agent
•	Official independent travel agent photo credentials
•	Toll-free security verification - to confirm your professional status
•	Specially negotiated travel offers and discounts available only to independent travel agents
•	Commissions on your own business and leisure travel
•	Commissions on the travel of your friends, family, co-workers and others

So TVIexpress is not much different, except we don’t book travel for anyone, they book their own, and we don’t have to be licensed or bonded to be in business.

Conclusion:
TVI express is a new company (started in Feb 2009) that has taken an approach to their business unheard-of prior. They have combined the power of Network Marketing, with the multi-Billion dollar Travel Industry with a partnership with Travelocity. TVIexpress’ goal is to be the #1 provider of Travel related services in the World, and is well on their way. They are currently in 150 countries around the world and have over 1,000,000 distributors worldwide, and are growing at an incredible rate. For TVIexpress this is about market share, leverage, and building name recognition in the Travel Industry, all of which translate to increased revenue. TVIexpress pays 72% of every revenue dollar back to the members as commission. And you don’t have to be a Travel Agent to receive these commissions; all you have to be is a TVIexpress member. A life time membership costs $275. You receive a 6 Night / 7 Day stay at a 3-5 Star property anywhere in the world, and a Free Domestic Companion Air Fare. All you need to pay are the taxes.

Corporate Info:
Travel Ventures International is the parent company with headquarters in the United Kingdom, Bangalore, and with financial centers in Cyprus.
The addresses are as follows:
1)	Lakeside House,1 Furzeground Way, Stockley Park, Heathrow, UB11 1BD, United Kingdom
If you still have doubts Call: +44.2033843830

2)	Louki Akrita, 14, Agia Zoni, P.C. 3030, Limassol, Cyprus

3)	First Floor, Hara House, No.1 GAT Street, Hosur Main Road, Wilson Garden, Bangalore - 560027, India

TVI looks and feels legit by all measures I have been able to use.
Regards,
Ed

Thanks for your comment, Raymond.

I always like to have accurate facts. Perhaps I misunderstood what one received in exchange for the $250 sign up fee.

If you have a URL or document that explains that, please get it to me here.

Also, a copy of the comp plan would help me to see where the commissions are coming from. Is it from the sale of travel? Or is it from the $250 enrollment fee?

The fact that you earn nothing for sponsoring two people who buy a "7day/6night package" is another matter worthy of comment when talking about virtues of a comp plan.
